GERALDINE HEAVY RAIN
Welcomed By Farmers
After a very fine Christmas and New Year the dry spell was broken early on Monday morning at Geraldine when a thick drizzle set in which increased to heavy rain later in the day. Up till 9 a.m. on Tuesday 2.69 ins of rain were recorded by Mr H. J. Bowkett, of Geraldine, 2.44 ins being recorded in 24 hours.
In spite of the heavy rain many creeks in the Geraldine district are still dry as the moisture has soaked into the ground. The rain was welcomed by the farmers as the ground was very dry.
