COAL PRODUCTION
(N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON. Jan. 9. New Zealand’s coal production last year was 47,070 tons above that of the previous year, said the Minister of Mines (the Hon. P. C. Webb) yesterday. The Minister said the 50 000 tons lost in the Waikato strike were made up. West Coast figures were up 35.000 tons. Southland 4500. and the northern district 7300.
