NO EARLY COLLAPSE
Turkish View Of Germans
LONDON. January 7.
Turkish observers see no signs of an immediate German collapse, says the Istanbul correspondent of “The Times." The Turks, who closely studied the German reaction to the Russian offensive, have drawn these conclusions: The German general staff is preparing plans to enable the Reich to fight a long defensive war. Their aim will be to delay as long as possible the direct threat to German territory itself. The Germans have made up their minds to sacrifice all the occupied countries surrounding Germany. These are to act as buffers against attacks.
