Admission Of Red Cross Delegates
(10 26 p.m.) LONDON, April 20. The War Office spokesman said that the Japanese had made no effort to furnish the British Government with the names of members of the Services and civilians captured at Singapore and elsewhere in the Far East. The protecting Power, Argentina, was doing its utmost to establish contact with our people but so far had been unsuccessful. ~ _ , „ A representative of the Red Cross War Prisoners’ Department said the Japanese did not allow the International Red Cross delegates to visit anv prisoners’ camps outside Japan. It seemed that they wanted to clean up all the occupied territory before allowing the Red Cross in.
