TREATY WITH IRAN
(Rec. 1 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 30. A treaty between Great Britain, Russia and Iran was signed at Teheran. A preamble to the treaty states that it is based on the principles of the Atlantic Charter. The Allied powers have the right to base land and air forces in Iran, but undertake to withdraw them six months after the cessation of hostilities. The treaty remains in force until the time fixed for the withdrawal of the Allied forces from Iran. The Allied Powers undertake to do their best to place Iran on a footing of equality in peace negotiations which might affect Iran’s interests.”
