AMBULANCE FUNDS TO BENEFIT Thtere was a large and representative attendance at a meeting held at the residence of Mrs J. C. Wilson. It Si aS t™ sta “ the Ambulance Platoon of the Fairhe Company of the Home Guard was in need of medical supplies and equipment for a field dressing station. Mrs T. Quill offered her home at which to hold a garden paity. The offer was accepted, and it was agreed that those present be a committee to make the necessary arrangements. It was decided that the party be held on Saturday afternoon. Sub-committees were appointed to arrange various attractions. It was decided that the Ambulance Platoon be asked to attend, and to give a demonstration of stretcher drill and first aid work An invitation is also to be extended to the Mackenzie Highland Pipe Band to be present. Drays and horse conveyances are to be available to take visitors to the party. HOME GUARD PARADE The weather was fine when the Fairile Company of the Mackenzie Battalion held a halfday parade The company under the command of Mi* O’Sullivan, marched to the Athletic Grounds. After carrying out company and platoon drill two platoons were exercised in open order work in the show grounds. The Works Company carried out work of a special order, and the Ambulance Company did stretcher drill and bandaging The Company Quartermaster and his’staff were present, and the cup of tea provided was appreciated by all. The next parade is to be held on Monday evening, and it is hoped that those intending to enlist will be present.
