LATE CABLE NEWS

HAMBURG RAIDED LONDON, May 7. The RA.F. again raided north-west Germany last night, Hamburg being the chief objective. A large force of bombers took part. Although the weather was unfavourable large fires were seen. Raids were also carried out on enemy occupied territories. A supply ship of 5000 tons was hit and must be considered a total loss. From day and night operations three British ’planes are missing.

(Rec. 1.30 am.) MELBOURNE, May 7. The death has occured of Sir Edward Fancourt Mitchell, K.C., Leader of the Victorian Bar and a high constitutional authority.
