THE CHURCHES

At St. Mary’s Parish Church the services will be: 8 a.m., Holy Communion; 11 a.m., Matins, and 6.30 pm Evensong. The Rev. J. S. H. Perkins will be the preacher in the morning and the vicar, the Rev. H. W. Monaghan, in the evening. Services at Woodlands Street will be conducted by Mr J. E. Chiles and the Rev. C. Blair. Sunday school anniversary services are to be held at Waimataitai. The scholars will sing special hymns at all the services. The preacher at St. Paul’s will be the Rev. J. Baird. The services at Chalmers Church on Sunday will be conducted by the Rev. Malcolm W. Wilson. At Trinity Presbyterian Church the Rev. F. H. Wilkinson will preach in the morning on “The Significance of the Single Soul" and in the evening on "The Call to Re-Union." At the Baptist Church to-morrow the sermon subject for the morning service will be "Living at Second Hand” and for the evening service “God and the Despot.” The Rev. A L Silcock will be the preacher at both services. Bright inspiring services will be conducted by Major and Mrs Ernest H Riseley at The Salvation Army. Services at Bank Street Methodist Church will be conducted by Mr K. Blakemore morning and Rev. H C. Orchard evening. Mr E. J. Thompson will be the preacher at Pleasant Point at 2.30, and Adair service will be taken by Mr K. Blakemore.
