Gallantry of Auckland Pilot By Telegraph— Association —Copyright: LONDON. November 21. Latest R.A.F. awards for gallantry include the D.F.C. to Flying Officer William Nixon, of Auckland. Similar awards have been made to two Canadian pilots, Pilot Officers George E. Walker and H. P. Clark. Flying Officer Nixon was ’ born in 1913 and was educated at Pukekohe and Gore. He joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1934 and the Royal Air Force in 1939. His wife lives at North Allerton, Yorkshire.
