KAIN AND SUNSHINE After sporadic intervals of sunshine and passing cloud, the sky became overcast during the afternoon and a heavy shower of rain commenced to fall about 6.30. IN OTHER CENTRES Fairlic: Yesterday morning was fine and sunny, but the afternoon was clouded and showery. Geraldine: Yesterday was fine With sunshine at intervals. Temuka: During yesterday morning there were a few hours of sunshine but the sky was overcast in the afternoon. There was a cold south-east wind. The rainfall for the 24 hours preceding 5 p.m was 29 points The maximum temperature was 65 degrees and the minimum 43 The glass was steady last evening Waimate (24 hours ended 9 a.m. Friday): Barometer, 29.3; thermometer, maximum 58.2. minimum 48.0; rain, 6 points; bright sunshine, 2 hours 48 minutes; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 78. Yesterday was mainly showery and overcast. Dunedin: Showery weather was again experienced yesterday. There was a fresh south-west wind. Temperatures were cool, the maximum being 52 degrees.
