WEATHER SOUTH CANTERBURY FORECAST
IMPROVEMENT EXPECTED (Special to “The Timaru Herald.”) WELLINGTON. November 22. Winds—Moderate and variable, with northerlies gradually predominating. Weather—Fair to cloudy and becoming milder. Seas—Moderate. DOMINION FORECAST General Situation An anti-cyclone is centred north-west of the North Island, while a depression is developing in the Western Tasman Sea. Forecast Winds—Southerly to westerly predominating but gradually tending northerly, force strong at first in the north otherwise light or moderate but freshening somewhat later. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rather rough north of Kawhia, elsewhere to south-west winds, changing later to slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate west northerly in the west, seas moderate. Weather—Mainly fair to cloudy, with gradually rising temperatures; some isolated brief showers, however, still probable.
