ROWING
Considerable activity has been evident of late on the waterfront as the members of the Timaru Rowing Club have been training early and late for the various events ahead. An ■ambitious and well varied programme has been arranged by the race committee, and members are showing great keenness. Rowing conditions have been perfect for some weeks, and this has considerably assisted in allowing events to be rowed to schedule. Enlistments for war service have deprived the club of practically the whole of its last season’s active membership, but older rowers have returned to the sport and with several new members, there is no fear now of the blub having to curtail its activities. The following are the crews for the next race, the vice-presidents’ fours, to be rowed during the first week In December: —W. Ramsay (s), L. Lyttle, D. Wilson, F. Heveldt; J. McKinnon (s), F. Clark, W. Jack, C. Smith; W. Wood (s), W. Veitch, C. Ryan, T. Williams; W. Davies (s), J. Shipman, Wigley, I. Guthrie.
