TO MAKE INFANTRY WALK
Trip In Lorry First United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright CONDON, November 19. Commander of the New Zealanders in one war and a platoon commander in the Heme Guard in another, is the experience of General Sir Alexander Godley, who, in a speech to New Zealand officers, declared: “Infantry knew how to walk in the last war, but today the only way to get infantry to walk is to take them 15 miles by lorry, dump them and make them walk back.”
