BRITISH DOCKERS
No Evidence Of Slacking By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 20. A recent message received from London conveyed the views of an anonymous shipowner alleging that the dockers were not putting forward thenbest efforts in Britain. The Rt. Hon. P. Fraser has received a cable message in which the British Minister of Labour expresses his view. Mi’ Bevin says that the allegations constitute a typical newspaper stunt not based on a proper appreciation of the facts and to which no importance ought to be attached. There were difficulties in discharging and reloading cargoes because of the conditions in which the ports were operating. These were the subject of careful examination in the port to which it is believed the articles referred. Mr Bevin was emphatic that it was a'misrepresentation to attribute these difficulties to slacking on. the part of the dockers, of which there was no evidence.
