MAY TAKE “FIRM STAND”
Japan At Turning Point United Press Association —By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright (Received October 13. 6.30 p.m.) TOKIO, October 12. The Prime Minister (Prince Konoye) in a speech, opening the National Service Association, formed to established a new national structure, reiterated that Japan was feeling a great turning point, requiring the entire nation’s co-operation. The Batavia of the “Asahi Shimbun” said that Mr I. Kobayashi (Japanese Minister of commerce) in a speech asserted “Japan is making the utmost efforts to establish self-sufficient common prosperity in the greater East Asia sphere through peaceful diplomatic measures. However if any nation obstructs such diplomatic measures we will be compelled to take a firm stand.”
