Unassailable Position

Waimate Team’s Lead High School had a win over Morven by 30 runs in the Waimate Cricket Sub-Association’s competition on Saturday, and Waimate won by default from Toilers which now places Wamate in an almost unassailable position in the competition. PERSONAL At the conclusion of the Waimate Swimming Club’s carnival, a presentation was made to Mr D. Jones, who has enlisted in the Second Echelon. The presentation was made by the Mayor, Mr G. Dash, who referred to the prominent part Mr Jones had taken in the activities of the Swimming Club. Mr R. McGillivray, Fields Superintendent of the Department of Agriculture, Christchurch, will be a visitor to Waimate to-morrow.
