WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
GERALDINE An exhibition of members’ work was the feature of the February meeting of the Geraldine Women’s Institute. Miss K. Polhill and Mrs Drummond Sharpe, who judged the exhibits, made the following awards:—Mast original exhibit, Mrs H. V. Firman; most decorative, Mrs D. Readdie; most outstanding, Mis L. Hawke. The judges made special mention of the knitting exhibits of Mrs C. S. Davies and Miss C. Rule which, they said, were exceptionally good. A talk was given by Mrs A. G. Brown on the conference of the A.C.W.W., which took place last year in London. An invitation from the Peel Forest Institute to several members to attend its birthday party on February 15 was accepted. The competitions resulted as follows:—Cluster bloom, Mrs J. Ashby 1, Mrs C. Stock 2, Miss Pratt 3; single bloom, Mr T. Ashby 1, Mrs C. Stock 2, Mrs D. Readdie 3.
