FALL INTO CONCRETE DRAIN John Richard White, aged 20, of Newman Street, a member of the Waimataitai junior cricket team, suffered chest injuries and a broken arm as a result of falling heavily into the concrete drain at Ashbury Park. White was fielding in the Walma-taitai-Washdyke match, on Saturday afternoon, and, when running to secure the ball, he fell heavily into the drain. He was attended by Dr. F. F. A. Ulrich and removed to the Timaru Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. The hospital authorities reported last night that White was making good progress.
