New Zealanders In France. Wing-Commander Wallingford, of New Zealand, accompanied by Lieuten-ant-Colonel Park, New Zealand military liaison officer, completed an exhaustive three days’ inspection of lhe more advanced of the two forces of which the British Air Force in France is at present composed. Sydney Water Board Loan The Metropolitan Water Board has issued a loan of £1,000,000 tor public subscription. The rate of interest is £4/7/6 per cent, the term is twelve years, and the issue is at par. Christian Front Investigation The United States Department of Justice is asking the New York District Attorney to investigate the connection of Father Coughlin, the “radio priest,” with the Christian Front. U.S. Oil Shipped to Soviet The Washington correspondent of the New York “Times” states that since the outbreak of European hostilities Russia has obtained over 1,300,000 barrels of petrol from the United States, most of which, it is believed, has been used in the operations in Finland. Franco-Spanish Trade Pact Details of the trade agreement between France and Spain have been announced in Paris. Spain is to receive 87,500 tons of wheat and 17,500 tons of rice, as well as agricultural machinery and electrical equipment. In return Spain is to supply war materials.
