Keen Sale For Rape Lambs Rates Maintained In Other Sections By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. January 17. The heaviest store sb ep entry of the season was forward at to-day’s Addington sale, about 6000 of the section being store lambs. The great stimulus given to fattening feed by th' recent rains was reflected in the keen sale for rape lambs, which made up to 21/- for threequarter bred wethers, with numerous pens from 16 6 to 17 9. The better lambs were 2 6 a head dearer than a week ago. Well grown ewe lambs in forward condition sold from 19/- to 19/9. Fat Lambs There was an entry of 2000 odd and full schedule rates were paid to a fraction more. Butchers had to pay Siid per lb to supply their needs. Fat Sheep A’, out 500 C were penned. Best ’.'ethers sold at up to last week’s good r.utc.. but her.vy ewes and light and medium were easier by up to 2 6. Fat Pigs Porkers were slightly chc .per, prices being from 37 6 to 52/6, an average lb of 6ld to 7d. Baconers showed little change. Prices ranged from 57 6 u £4 8/6, an average per lb of 6id to 65id.
