RETURN FARES PAID

UNION COMES TO RESCUE OF WRESTLERS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. December 18. The warning by the Hon. W. E. Parry on the necessity for professional wrestlers visiting New Zealand under contract to independent promoters insisting upon return fares being paid was described as very timely by a visiting wrestler, Frank Atkins, in an interview to-day. Atkins said that with three colleagues—George O’Brien, Batros Pasha and McGinty Ding—he arrived in New Zealand in October. They had approximately eight matches each and were leaving next week for Australia. “We wish to express our appreciation of the Minister’s warning and thank the Dominion Wrestling Union for paying our fares back to Australia.” Atkins said. They had been brought over by another organisation which had not accepted responsibility for their return fares.
