GARDEN PARTY A garden party was held at "Pine Terrace,” the home of Mr and Mrs R. Wisely, to raise funds for the Sunday School prizes. An ice cream, fruit salad and sweet stall did good business under the management of Misses D. and R. Wisely and J. Lawrie. Tennis and competitions were enjoyed by the visitors. During afternoon tea the Rev. Andrews, on behalf of the Sunday School teachers, thanked all those who had helped. Items were given by the following: Violin solo, Miss J. Lawrie (accompanied by Miss R. Wisely); pianoforte solo, Elma Young; pianoforte duet, Myrtle and Gilbert Seymour; song, Allan Young; recitation, Elizabeth McLaren; duet, Rosamund Malthus and Margaret Young. The Sunday School prizes were presented at the evening service at St. David’s Memorial Church, as follows: Senior class (teacher, Miss Wisely): Myrtle Seymour, Gilbert Seymour. Henry Seymour, Blake Seymour, Max Malthus, Grahame Little, Maurice Bryson, Colin Rapley. Primer class (teacher, Mrs D. Ker): Elma Young, Ngaire Rapley, Margaret Bryson, Elisabeth McLaren, Shona Essler, Alan Essler, Allan Young. Infants (teacher, Miss J. Lawrie): Rosamund Malthus, Pam Jones, Margaret Young, Allan Gray, Mervyn Gray.
Prizes for attendance went to Allan Young, Leslie Pearce, Myrtle Seymour, Gilbert Seymour, Henry Seymour, 131ake Seymour, Colin Rapley and Ngaire Rapley.
