WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
TYCHO A reading on “Madame Chiang Kai Shek,” and a travel talk were given at the meeting of the Tycho Women’s Institute. The former was given by Miss Berg, and the latter by Miss M. Morrison. Mrs F. G. Armstrong presided and Mrs J. McLeod gave a report on the recent group meeting held at Claremont. A competition arranged by the hostesses, Mesdames C. T. Stewart and p. Armstrong, was won by Mrs F. G. Armstrong. The afternoon’s competitions resulted as follows: Premier bloom, large, Mrs C. Talbot (poppy) 1, Mrs J. McLeod (poppy) 2, Mrs R. Gliddon (rose) 3; small, Mrs J. McLeod (rose) 1, Mrs C. Talbot (rose) 2, Mrs R. Gliddon (pansy) 3; collection of vegetables, Miss M. Morrison 1. Mrs J. McLeod and Mrs L. Smith equal 2.
