THIEVES ACTIVE
TWO PREMISES ENTERED Burglars were active in Timaru on Thursday night, when two Stafford Street business premises were entered and about 1'39 in cash stolen. By forcing the back door the thief or thieves gained entrance to Mr R. Watson's tobacconist shop near the Dominion Hotel and made a haul of £35. The adjoining premises of Mr S. Moore's confectionery shop was next entered and between £3 and £4 taken. There is evidence also that an unsuccessful attempt was made to enter the premises of the Para Rubber Company. Nothing was disturbed.
