GOOD RESPONSE
Recruiting For Home Defence British Official Wireless RUGBY, November 20 The opening to voluntary recruitments of the Home Defence Battalions for which the War Office announced it would accept 20,000 men, had an excellent response. Fifty-seven battalions are being formed as part of country regiments. These battalions will represent the transformation of the former National Defence companies. Recruiting for the Home Defence Battalions, the age limits for which are thirty-five to fifty, opened on Friday, and the number of applications in the first day and a half up to the end of last week is not yet available, but the intake is understood to be quite satisfactory.
