Arrival At Canton Island Captain Clutha in Charge By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. November 21. Making steady progress on her flight to Auckland, the Pan-American Airways Honolulu Clipper reached Canton Island from Honolulu at 4.45 o'clock this afternoon, New Zealand time. The machine, with her crew of 12 under Captain Cluthe. who was first officer of the California Clipper on her recent flight to New Zealand, and five members of the company's staff as passengers, left Honolulu this morning. Advice of the forthcoming transfer to Auckland from Noumea of Mr A. L. Lewis, formerly Pan-American Airways airport manager in Auckland, has been received by Mr D. Walker, the present holder of the position. Mr Walker said that Mr Lewis would not travel on the Honolulu Clipper but would come to Auckland either by the next machine or by ship. Following his arrival Mr Walker would leave to take up new duties at Honolulu. With Captain Cluthe on the present flight is the following crew—First officer. Captain McGlohm; second officer, Mr C. V. George; third officer. Mr R. R. Campbell; fourth officer, Mr J. T. Nolan; flight engineer, Mr E. C. Green; assistants, Messrs R. H. Sanders and J. J. Heatley; chief radio officer, Mr J. C. Smyser; second radio officer, G. H- Miller; stewards, Messrs T. Moffat and T. Sarles. Two of the Clipper's passengers will leave the ship at Noumea. They are Mr Charles Gregg, who is to relieve Mr Lewis as airport manager there, and Mr P. Washer, a mechanic. In addition to Messrs G. Angus and H. Gatty, the Clipper is bringing to Auckland Mr P. Machado, who will be stationed in Auckland as mechanic. The schedule prepared for the Clipper provided for her to leave Canton Island at 4.40 o’clock tomorrow morning. New Zealand time, for Noumea, where she is expected to arrive about 6 o'clock in the afternoon. She is due to reach Auckland about 3.30 o’clock on Thursday afternoon.
