MORE STATE HOUSES
SCHEME FOR OLENDOWIE , A notification that the Government Housing Department had under consideration the acquisition of about 160 acres at Glendowie for housing purposes was received by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board last week. The board was asked to advise on the best means of giving this area sewerage service. The engineer-secretary, Mr H. H. Watkins, said it was practicable for a substantial portion of the area to be drained by gravitation into the board’s main sewer system, provided the land were brought into the board’s district, The matter was referred to the Works Committee.
