Future Plan of Campaign

Considered British Official Wireless RUGBY, November 17. A meeting of the Supreme War Council was held in London to-day. It was attended by the French Prime Minister (M. Daladier). the French ommander-in-Chief (General Gamelin), Admiral D’Arlan, and General Vuillemin for France, and the Prime Minister (Mr Chamberlain), the Foreign Secretary (Lord Halifax), the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence (Admiral Lord Chatfield), and the Air Secretary (Sir Kingsley Wood) for Britain. The Council passed in review the military situation and its possible further development. Complete agreement was reached on the best method of the combined employment of the French and British forces for the most effective conduct of operations. War Secretary to Visit France The Secretary of State for War (Mr L. Hore-Belisha) flew to France to-day to inspect the British armies, including that part of the Maginot Line under the command of the British Com-mander-in-Chief (Lord Gort). He will also visit the French front and hold conferences with the French Prime Minister and the French Commander-in-Chief in Paris on Monday.
