“POLAND IS NOT DEAD”
Strong Force Being Raised Will Fight On Western Front British Official Wireless (Received November 16, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, November 15. General Sikorski, besides being the Polish Premier, is commander of the rapidly growing Polish army in France. Already several thousand men have joined Polish units which will serve under Polish officers under the direction of the French High Command, while others are continuing valuable work in the coalmines and the great engineering shops for the Allies cause. The Polish authorities have received promises of substantial help and enlistment from 5,000.000 Polish citizens in America. Canada has several thousand Poles. Some are doing naional service in the key industries and others are anxious to cross over for enlistment. Altogether the foundations *are laid for a strong Polish force to fight on the Western Front. Out of the Poles livihg in France alone it is estmiated that at least 100.000 will be called up by degrees. They will form a distinctive national body and their determination is expressed in their national anthem, “Poland is not dead while we live.”
