BOWLING PARK LADIES’ CLUB
THIRD ANNUAL REPORT The third annual report of the Park Ladies’ Bowling Club reveals another successful year. The club competitions resulted as follows:—Champion singles (Worsley Cup), Mrs J. Murphy; runner-up, Mrs M. Healey; handicap singles (Power Cup), Mrs J. Murphy; handicap doubles, Mrs M. Healey (s) and Mrs C. Hilton. The champion of champions match was played on the Park green and Mrs J. Murphy represented the club. The club extended congratulations to the winner, Mrs Richards (Waimate). The club also entered a team for the Ferguson Cup, and although not successful, the matches were enjoyed. The social afternoons and card evenings held during the winter were a great success. At the first card evening the trophies were presented, and Mrs Wyatt, the club’s secretary, who resigned owing to her departure to the North Island, was presented with a handbag. The club suffered a severe loss in the death of its auditor, Mr J. O’Leary. The club wishes to thank Mr C. Worsley for his generous gift of a cup for the champion singles, also the many donors, the men’s club, the greenkeeper and all who assisted in any way. The season closed with a satisfactory credit balance.
