SAFE-BREAKING
TWO MEN ACCI’SED Bv I'Plourn ph - Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. September 12. “These two men are connected with a number of recent safe-blowings, and further charges are pending,” said Detective-Sergeant F. Sinclair in the Magistrate's Court this morning, when asking that two men should be remanded until September 18. when he would be able to go on with the case. The remand was granted. The accused were Claude William Reid, a sheet-metal worker, aged 27. of Colombo Street, and Graham Wilfred Morton, a labourer, aged 23. also of Colombo Street, who were jointly charged that on September 1, at Woodend, they broke and entered a shop owned by C. B. Bourne, situated on the Main North Road, and committed theft. "Is there any question of bail?” asked Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M. “I am objecting strongly to that, sir,” said Mr Sinclair.
