Senator Thomas (Utah), addressing the Canadian American Conference, suggested that Canada should become a party to United States Pan-American treaties. “Whether Canada likes it or not is not tlie question, but America’s defence i the Pacific includes of necessity the defence of the Canadian coastline. Canada, of course, accepts the friendship and security of these treaties .ad benefits indirectly from the deliberations of the Pan-American Union,” he added.
