FEELING STRAIN OF TOUR

Royal Appearances Curtailed First Stage Completed To Enter America Next Week United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 1, 11.40 p.m.) KAMLOOPS (8.C.), June 1. The special correspondent of the Australian Associated Press says that the first stage of the Royal tour has been completed, and their Majesties are returning across Canada by the more northerly routes, making 19 halts before entering the United States at Niagara on June 7. During the eastward journey they made many appearances on the rear platform of the train, but the Government announced that the heavy programme had imposed such a strain that no unscheduled appearances will be made on the return trip before 10 a.m. and after dark. It is also requested that communities at stations not included in the official itinerary are not to organise large-scale demonstrations. Their Majesties will arrive at Jasper to-morrow and spend 22 hours resting. Their Majesties will arrive at Southampton by the Empress of Britain on the afternoon of June 6.
