GENERAL FRANCO’S APPEAL TO WOMEN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright BURGOS, May 30. In a speech to eleven thousand women Falangists, General Franco said: “I want Spain to become a fortress, but not so that she may plunge into any mad adventure, i want her to become a fortress of peace.” General Franco added that families were the strongest guarantee for peace, and he urged the women to raise up a new Spain.
