PLAY IN THIRD ROUND
SINGLES KNOCK-OUT AT lIIGIII lELD After many stern matches the third round of the singles knock-out at Highfield was completed last week-enc. A fine performance was registered by G. A. Ussher, who won his match against R. L. Galloway on the twentyfirst green. Ussher produced a 69 foils holes. He was giving Galloway eight strokes over the 13 and a stroke at each of the twentieth and twentyfirst holes. Galloway who also played well throughout, three-putted to allow’ Ussher to go on to the fourth rounc. Other good exhibitions were given ny E. A. Scott, E. G. Kerr, junr., D. Moyes and J. M. Kerr who, in spite of having to concede a liberal number of strokes, earned the right to remain tn the competition. Third round results were: E. A. Scott beat A. W. May. E. G. Kerr, junr. beat J. M. Mitchell. A. A. Wakefield beat D. S. Mullan (by default). H. Bedford beat P. H. Davies. A. M. Robertson beat V. Forbes. G. R. Kingston beat C. W. Webber. G. A. Ussher beat R. L. Galloway. H. Morgan beat R. J. Moyes. D. Moyes beat J. W. Rolleston. R. C. Tonkin beat B. Baxter. E. G. Kerr beat V. T. Nicholas. J. M. Kerr beat W. E. Mackay. G. Fairbrother beat S. P. McDougall. W. J. Foote beat P. S. Sinclair. W. J. Sullivan beat W. E. Jones.
