VACATION SCHOOL
CORRESPONDENCE PUPILS By releeranh - P'?s c A’snciatinn WELLINGTON. April 18. A vacation school for pupils of the correspondence school will be held at New Plymouth fro. May 8 to 20, the headmaster (Dr. A. G. Butchers) said to-day. “The splendid hostels of the Girls and Boys High Schools there have been made available,” hs said, “and it is estimated that two hundred pupils of the correspondence school will attend from both Islands. “They will travel in charge of members of the teaching staff. They will rub shoulders with one another and enjoy healthy exercises and sports and there will be an opportunity of practical work in handcraft, woodwork, needlework, cooking, typewriting, art and scientific experiments, singing and band work, etc., in preparation for a concert at the end of the school. Nature study rambles and historical and geographical excursions will be undertaken. “Concession railway fares will be given by the Railway Department ani the Education Department is allowing either 7, 6 a week boarding allowance or actual travelling expenses to a maximum of 22/6.”
