WEDDING

EARL—ALLEN At the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Geraldine, on Saturday, Patricia Monica, second daughter of Mr and Mrs F. J. Allen, Geraldine, was married to Alfred Joseph, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. J. Earl, Orari. The church was decorated by friends of the bride in mauve and cream tonings. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father M. J. Fogarty. Miss Bernadette Lysaght played the wedding music. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of cream slipper satin cut on slimming lines with a shirred bodice and high medici collar. The skirt fell to form a train which was scalloped with orange blossom. Her tulle veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of lilies and friesias The bridesmaid, Miss Ursula Allen, wore a frock of apple green satin, cut on slimming lines with a shrried bodice, and finished with a row of small buttons down the back. Her green hat was relieved with lavender and her shower bouquet was of lavender toned flowers. Mr W. Earl was best man and Mr A. Lysaght acted as usher. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a horseshoe by John Neutze.

The reception was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall. The bride’s mother, who received the guests, was attired in a grey tailored costume, with oyster shaded blouse, and a black hat with eye veil. She wore a fur stole and shoulder spray of crimson flowers. Mrs Earl, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black and clover patterned frock with a black coat and hat.

For travelling the bride wore a navy tailored costume relieved with a deep cream blouse, navy hat, and gloves. A fox stole completed her ensemble and she carried a navy coat.
