The barometer at 5 p.m. recorded 30.074 inches and was falling slowly. Ashburton— Very warm weather prevailed yesterday. There was little wind in the morning and a bright sun shone from an unclouded sky. Geraldine Brilliant sunshine throughout the day. Temuka— Yesterday was fine and sunny with a light southerly breeze. The maximum temperature was 80 degrees and the minimum 34. The glass was steady last evening, Waimate (for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday)—Barometer, 29.5; thermometer,, maximum, 64.2; minimum, 43.0; bright sunshine, nine hours 36 minutes; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 99.
