COLOURFUL NATIONAL COSTUMES.— The people of Czechoslovakia have clung tenaciously to their national costumes. The many petticoats that are worn by the women give to the short dresses the effect of crinolines; white or red stockings, skirts and aprons of many bright colours; colourembroidered bodices and a great variety of coloured head kerchiefs all add to the arresting beauty of these costumes.
