OTAIO BRANCH At the December meeting of th’e Otaio branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union, Miss Forrest presided over a fair attendance of members. A letter was received from Mr Twomey thanking members for their Christmas gifts for the Makogai lepers. The next meeting will be held on the last Saturday in January. ■ Mrs Tilly gave a very instructive demonstration on punch woodwork, and was accorded a vote of thanks. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mes - dames Hall and Martin. Competitions resulted—Best bloom. Miss B. Martin 1, Mrs F. Martin 2; bowl of roses, Mrs F. Martin 1, Miss Brunton 2; Christmas novelty, Mrs Tilly and Miss Fenwick (equal) 1; shortbread, Miss B. Martin 1.
