“NO ONE WANTS IT”
University Entrance Examination MR FRASER DROPS A HINT TO THE SENATE By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 2. The developments and improvements made in regard to the training colleges were mentioned by the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, at the break-up ceremony of the Wellington Training Coilege. Mr Fraser said a matter of importance to future students was the abolition of the training college entrance examination, which was regarded as unnecessary when students had passed the matriculation examination. He hoped the latter examination would not last much longer either (applause), and that the members of the University Senate present would convey his earnest wish to that body that consideration of the abolition of the examination should be tackled at Its next meeting. No one wanted the examination.
