Firm Demand at Napier Prices Up On Auckland By Telegraph—Press Association NAPIER, December 2. The Continent, Bradford and, to a certain extent, America, were active at the first Hawke's Bay wool sale of the season at Napier to-day. A feature of the sale was the return of Belgium to the market,, her buyers acquiring a fairly extensive weight of wool. The Japanese were not in evidence. The selection of wool offering was excellent, and it was generally considered to be the best clip seen in Hawke’S Bay for years. There was a firm demand for the coarser grades of wool. Prices rise on the Auckland sale. The sales showed an Increase of approximately a Id per lb on last year and a clear were reported to be fully up to expectations, bidding being ready and spirited. The top price was 141 d for a good line of B wool entered by the estate of the late James Todd. It was a line of super medium crossbred of 46 to 48 count. Range of prices was as follows:
