WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
WASHDYKE There as a good attendence at the November meeting of the Washdyke Women’s Institute, Mrs W. Kellahan presided. Mrs Blay gave the golden thread on the country library. This matter was then discussed and it was agreed that Mrs Blay and Mrs Kellahan meet the Progress League and that a public meeting be called. Arrangements were made for a picnic to be held for members’ children on December 10. The competitions resulted as follows:—Pickles: Mrs J. King 1, Mrs McDufl 2; junior, Miss Pearce 1. Knitted pullovers: Mrs McDuff 1, Mrs W. Kellahan 2. Premier bloom: Mrs W. Kellahan 1; junior, Miss E. Pearce 1. The hostesses were Mesdames Hogg, Harris, Harris and Anderson.
