THREE AUSTRALIANS CAUGHT By Telegraph- Press Association AUCKLAND, November 9. Three young Australians whom the Police said had flooded Auckland with betting cards following a tour of New Zealand were each charged in the Police Court to-day with bookmaking. All three pleaded guilty, and undertook to leave for Australia on Saturday by the Wanganella. Thomas Kirby, aged 27 years, a bookmaker was fined £lOO or three months’ imprisonment. John Arthur Carlson, aged 28 years, a salesman, and Francis Campbell, aged 28 years, a salesman, were each fined £5O or two months’ imprisonment. BARMAN CONVICTED By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 9. Patrick Slattery, a barman, was fined £3O, in default a month’s imprisonment for carrying on business c: a bookmaker.
