“HIT AND RUN” CASE

After a retirement of half an hour, the jury returned with a verdict of guilty on both counts in a “hit and run” case in the Supreme Court this morning. Ronald Francis Healy, of New Plymouth, was charged with failing to stop and with failing to ascertain if any person had been injured when the car he was driving collided with a car driven by James Douglas Hunter, near the Maketawa Dairy Factory, on May 28. The prisoner was remanded till to-morrow for sentence, and in the meantime was released on his own recognisance to appear tomorrow morning.
