STAFF DANCE
SOUTH CANTERBURY POWER BOARD Despite the inclement weather, the West End Hall presented a very happy scene on Tuesday evening when the staff of the South Canterbury Electric Power Board gathered with their friends for their first social and dance. Visitors were present from Christchurch, Fairlie, Geraldine and Waimate, and everyone was most enthusiastic concerning the success of the evening. The members of the energetic committee who worked hard for the success of the evening were.—Mr G. W. Morrison (chairman), Miss M. H. Olivr (secretary), Miss K. M. Ramsay, Miss J. V. Campbell, Mr A. Byrom and Mr F. Hide. Mr J. McNamara proved an efficient M.C. Novelty dances were won by Miss J. Orr and Mr A. A. Ople, Miss E. Marsden and Mr C. Little, and Miss R. Barton and Mr A. Bennington.
