On arrival from Australia, Lady Suzanne Wilkins stated that she was taking out naturalisation papers. She added: “I am sure that Sir Hubert will also become an American.” Lady Wilkins announced that she was accompanying her husband to the North Pole by submarine, leaving New York in March. “I am here to fatten up," she said.
