ASHBURTON SHOW

Splendid Entries Keen Interest Displayed By Telegraph—Press Association ASHBURTON, November 3. With a very full catalogue of no fewer than 2450 entries, the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s sixty-second annual exhibition of live stock, farm and dairy produce, and school and domestic crafts was held on the Ashburton Showgrounds today, and it attracted a good deal of attention on the part of residents of both town and country. The wide range of exhibits in all sections of the Show made the fixture one of the most attractive the Association has staged, and this fact was appreciated by patrons. The Ashburton Show has always been looked on as a place where town and country may meet on a common ground, as the interests of both sections are so closely allied, one being dependent on the other, that it is an essential that they should combine in one big function that has its social side as well as its utility aspect. The Association has a proud record in all its activities, and in the last year it has fully lived up to the reputation it has built up during the 61 years of its existence. Its catalogues have always been large and it says much for the organisation of the show that the Association is able to deal easily in one day with 2450 entries, where other organisations with fewer entries occupy two days. Quality this year is again the keynote of the fixture. - Championship Awards The following championships were awarded:— Adams Cup, entire draught—A. J. Doak; D. G. Wright reserve. Harness Horse—T. H.
