PERSONAL Mrs W. Angus (Christchurch), who has been staying with Mrs W. H. Mackenzie, “Nimrod Downs,” has returned home. Miss Jean Mackenzie has returned to “Lyndhurst” (Christchurch) after staying with her mother, Mrs W. H. Mackenzie, "Nimrod Downs.’’ Mrs A. J. Glass, “Riverview,” has left for Christchurch to attend the 98th birthday of her grandmother, Mrs J. Hamilton, St. Albans. BENEFICIAL RAIN The rain which has fallen during the last week has had very beneficial results to pastures which were beginning to show the effects of the dry spell experienced earlier. Some sunshine would now be welcome to enable farmers to proceed with the sowing of their crops. MEASLES PREVALENT Measles are still prevalent, a number falling victims to a second attack. Fortunately they are of a mild type and no serious results have been experienced.
