MANAWATU GORGE
SLIP BLOCKS ROADWAY By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON N„ November 3 Following heavy rain in the last 24 hours, a slip came down in the Manawatu Gorge overnight and completely blocked the roadway, which, however, was cleared sufficiently to permit of traffic to go through at 8.30 this morning. Care will still, however, be needed. The countryside bears a sodden appearance. A strong wind yesterday did some damage to fruit trees and plant growth in exposed places.
